Force and Simple Machines
The Lever

The lever is an important secret agent tool.  It consists of a bar resting on or against a fulcrum that will help you to move a load.  Many items can be used as a lever, so don't be fooled.  Review the areas below to gain 'leverage' on the three different classes of levers.  Good luck agent in-training!

Create your own
Before you attempt your next challenge, you will need to test yourself to be sure that you not only can spot a lever, but you can make your own.  When you are satisfied that you can demonstrate your own Lever, either take a picture, a video, or sketch a scientific diagram of it.  Don't forget to describe it and it's parts.
Reflect...
Every secret agent needs to reflect on their assignments and missions.  Reflect on what you have found while investigating levers.  What materials did you use?  What went right?  What challenges did you encounter?  Write these thoughts both in our 'Secret Agents Blog' for Simple Machines and in your Simple Machines notebook.
