First People's of Canada Assignment
Please read the directions below very carefully; "1, 2, 3 Read."  This assignment is on Canada's First Nations People.  There is a timeline for completion and presentation.
Picture
First People's of Canada Assignment
In groups of two or three choose one of the seven first people's of Canada.  Your presentation should be no less than 5 minutes and no more than 10 minutes long.  Video can be used from either YouTube or Discovery Education if you wish.  I do require you to have made notes to assist you in your presentation.  If you are using paper please write or type them out, both Keynote and PowerPoint have built in presenter notes..  Good presentations will focus heavy on graphics with minimal words on the slides. (titles and captions) Words will be mostly on the presenter notes. I will let you choose your own partners but for this assignment there cannot be any groups of one or four.  Your choices are:

Northwest Coastal People
Plateau People
Plains People
Eastern Woodland Hunters
Eastern Woodland Farmers
Subarctic People
Inuit

You can choose a Keynote on your iPad tablets or a good old fashioned bristol board project.  If you would like a "PDF" version of these instructions to keep on your iPad tablet click here:  PDF version.

Your presentation must contain slides on the following:
  1. A map of Canada showing where your first nation existed before European contact.
  2. Language spoken and Nations included within the group.  (No need to list them all, 4 or 5 will be sufficient).
  3. Food (This can include hunting, gathering, or agriculture.
  4. Environment and Housing
  5. Religion and ceremonies
  6. Art
  7. Clothing
  8. Transportation
  9. Family and Social Structure

  11. (Optional) Anything interesting that you found out that you would like to share with the class.
